Discounts available for those belonging to the Raptor Awards Network, working at a RCVS establishment plus both serving and retired millitary, emergency service or NHS workers.
This course lasts for 1 day from 9.30am to 4pm (on select dates & locations only) and is open to all those caring for birds of prey. It is facilitated by Fens Falconry staff and our Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) approved practitioner in zoological medicine from Toll Barn Veterinary Centre Ltd.
This is an intensive 6 hour session covering the following topics;
• bird of prey anatomy
• common injuries & prevention
• common illness, zoonoses & prevention
• hygiene & cleaning
• impacts of accommodation
• field treatments
• feeding & exercise to promote good health
You will recieve a certificate of attendance, course notes and lunch is included. This course is acredited for 6 hours of CPD by Raptor Awards CIC and meets requirements for bird of prey keepers in line with The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018.
